WEICON WEICONLOCK AN 302-43 Anaerobic Thread Sealant is an anaerobic industrial adhesive designed to prevent loosening in threaded joints and reduce the risk of leakage caused by micro-gaps. Its methacrylate resin-based formulation cures between metal surfaces where oxygen is limited, aiming to create a durable bond in the joint area. Thanks to its medium-strength grade, it offers removability with standard hand tools during service and maintenance. Its high viscosity helps fill tolerances between threads in a more controlled way, supporting consistent assembly quality.

Positioning WEICONLOCK AN 302-43 as an anaerobic industrial adhesive
This product is an industrial adhesive solution focused on reducing risks such as vibration-induced loosening, self-unthreading, and the onset of corrosion on contact surfaces, especially in bolted and nut connections. By sealing air gaps between threads, it can provide an additional sealing effect on the metal contact area and deliver repeatable results in assembly. The blue color simplifies application control and is suitable for use with a dosing nozzle. It is developed by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG, a manufacturer based in Germany.

Performance and resistance parameters
The product is specified for use on threaded fasteners up to M36 and offers a maximum gap-filling capacity of 0.25 mm, providing an advantage in tolerance-prone assemblies. With a Brookfield viscosity of 2,000–7,000 mPa·s at 25 °C, it tends to spread by “staying” on the thread rather than running off the surface. The medium-strength class is described with a breakaway torque of 17–22 Nm and a prevailing torque of 8–12 Nm, intended to balance joint security with removability. In terms of curing behavior, reaching handling strength in 10–20 minutes at room temperature and requiring 1–3 hours for full strength supports planning within maintenance time windows. Since temperature resistance is specified as -60 °C to +200 °C, the product is intended to maintain performance under varying service conditions.

Surface preparation and application steps
Before application, cleaning the threads from oil, dirt, and loose oxide layers makes industrial adhesive performance more consistent. The product is applied around the thread with the dosing nozzle; for blind holes, applying sufficient product into the hole also helps reduce trapped air in the cavity. The parts are assembled and torqued, and once curing is complete in the joint area, a reduced risk of vibration loosening is expected. The nozzle should not be brought into contact with metal, and product that has contacted metal should not be poured back into the bottle, as metal particles may cause premature curing inside the container. In serial assembly lines, manual or automatic applicators can be preferred to ensure dosing consistency.

System compatibility, standards, and sector-specific applications
With DVGW and KTW approvals for drinking-water-related applications, WEICONLOCK AN 302-43 provides an industrial adhesive alternative that supports process compliance for threaded assemblies that may come into contact with water. It is suitable for pump-to-housing joints, valve equipment, fitting installations, and piping connections where vibration, pressure fluctuations, and thermal changes affect threaded joints. It can be positioned as an auxiliary chemical to improve joint reliability in machinery manufacturing, maintenance and repair, HVAC installations, hydraulic/pneumatic equipment assembly, and the automotive supply industry. While high viscosity helps the product stay on the thread especially on larger fasteners and relatively wide tolerances, the medium-strength grade preserves removability during service. With proper surface preparation and controlled dosing, benefits such as reducing loosening risk, supporting sealing performance, and extending joint service life are targeted.
