L&L Reinforce L-9060 is an FST-compliant, two-component lightweight epoxy-based industrial adhesive and filling compound developed for panel edge finishing, core filling, and local reinforcement in aircraft interiors. Official technical documents highlight the product’s low-density syntactic structure, rapid room-temperature cure, and its ability to provide gap filling and edge sealing in honeycomb sandwich structures. This makes the material not only a filler, but also a functional industrial adhesive solution that contributes to protection against impact and moisture. The manufacturer is L&L Products, based in Romeo, Michigan, USA. In Turkey, it is supplied through the company’s official distributor, UTM Teknik.

Technical structure and strength performance of L-9060
This system consists of two components based on formulated epoxy and formulated amine; after mixing, it takes the form of a thixotropic paste and forms a low-density syntactic epoxy matrix. The mixing ratio is 2:1 by volume and 100:50 by weight, while the mixed product density ranges from 0.55 to 0.59 g/cm³, which provides a significant advantage in lightweight panel designs. After full cure, the Shore D hardness is 50, and compressive strength is given as 22 MPa at -55°C, 14 MPa at 23°C, and 6 MPa at 80°C. Its ability to retain 14 MPa compressive strength at 23°C after 1,000 hours of aging at 70°C and 85% relative humidity shows that structural stability is maintained in humid service conditions.

Application method and compatible systems
This industrial adhesive should be applied between 20°C and 25°C. In cartridge use, the two components must be mixed through a static mixer, and the initial discharged material should be discarded until the color becomes uniform. The bead-applied material can be tooled with a spatula for approximately 70 minutes, can be sanded after 3 hours, and reaches full cure in 24 hours at 23°C. The product is available in 400 mL cartridges or packaging suitable for bulk pumping equipment, making it compatible with both manual and controlled dispensing processes. Official documents specifically state that it is suitable for gap filling and edge sealing in honeycomb-core sandwich panel systems used in aircraft interiors.

Aerospace applications
In terms of use, the product stands out primarily in aerospace interior trim and lightweight panel production, especially in edge close-out operations for honeycomb-core composite sandwich structures. In production steps such as panel edge close-out, core splicing, local edge reinforcement, and radius enhancement, the material provides both filling and rigidity at the same time. It is also used for local reinforcement in strategic areas where brackets and inserts will be placed, helping limit crushing of the core. For this reason, it represents a technically strong industrial adhesive option in aircraft interior panel assembly, lightweight composite panel finishing, and interior structural applications requiring FST compliance.

Key advantages and FST compliance of L-9060
Among the main advantages of the product are the elimination of manual mixing, reduced waste, low odor, and the ability to provide high local reinforcement despite its light weight. In terms of safety and regulatory compliance, it is notable for being REACH compliant, free from CMR-classified substances, and meeting FAR/JAR 25.853 and Airbus ABD0031 requirements, which are critical in aerospace applications. In the 12-second vertical burn test on a 6.35 mm specimen, results of 30 mm burn length, 2 seconds after-flame, and no dripping demonstrate its FST performance. An optical smoke density result of 106 Ds further supports this profile. This technical picture makes L-9060 not just a lightweight filler, but an industrial adhesive and reinforcement solution that can be confidently preferred in aircraft interior projects where certification requirements are stringent.
