WEICON Flex 310 M Crystal MS Polymer 310 ml is an MS polymer-based industrial adhesive that provides both bonding and sealing in assemblies where a transparent bond line is desired. Its single-component, moisture-curing structure allows practical application from a cartridge, and its high initial tack helps keep parts in place even on vertical surfaces. It stands out in designs where mechanical fasteners such as screws or rivets are to be reduced and a cleaner appearance is targeted. Its formulation free of silicone, isocyanates, and halogens offers an approach suitable for maintenance/repair and production processes in various industries.
Product description and chemical structure of Flex 310 M Crystal MS Polymer
This product is a one-component, polyoxypropylene-based MS polymer system that completes curing with ambient moisture. Its pasty consistency reduces the tendency to slump during application and allows a more controlled joint bead. The crystal/transparent appearance offers an advantage in optically sensitive assemblies where adhesive traces are not desired. Its structure associated with ISEGA certification can provide an additional reference for businesses with use requirements related to food technology applications, under appropriate process conditions.
Performance features and resistance parameters
This industrial adhesive is specified for application in the +5 °C to +40 °C range, and curing progresses by about 2–3 mm within the first 24 hours. Since the skin-over time is around 10 minutes, joining the parts before this time is important for wetting and adhesion. The maximum gap-bridging capacity is up to 5 mm, and the recommended sealing joint width is up to 25 mm, providing flexibility for both bonding and filling scenarios. Typical tensile strength is 3 N/mm², average lap shear strength is 2 N/mm², and elongation at break is about 300%; this combination supports performance in joints that require an elastic bond line. Shore A hardness is 40±5, and temperature resistance is -40 °C to +90 °C, with short-term resistance up to about +120 °C for approximately 2 hours.
Application method and process recommendations
The product is applied using a gun suitable for 310 ml cartridges, and for repeatability in serial assembly, pneumatic guns or automatic dispensing systems may be preferred. After application, parts should be joined before the first skin forms on the adhesive surface, and the required positioning/fixturing should be completed. Controlled bead application and proper nozzle selection help reduce squeeze-out and support cleaner workmanship. The shelf life is specified as 12 months in unopened packaging under standard climate conditions, providing predictability for stock planning.
Surface preparation and compatible substrates
Keeping surfaces clean, dry, and free of oil is the most critical performance step for this type of industrial adhesive system. While it can be used on metal, glass, ceramic, wood, and many plastics, primer may be required for certain materials or special requirements. On very smooth surfaces, light mechanical abrasion such as sanding can significantly improve adhesion. This approach increases process reliability, especially in applications where the transparent bond line is expected to look both strong and neat.
Sector-based applications and key advantages
This MS polymer industrial adhesive can be considered for indoor applications, metal construction, tank and fixture manufacturing, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, trade fair stands, and in-store installations. When transparent, aesthetics-focused joints are required—such as bonding transparent plastics and acrylic glass—it offers a notable alternative. Its resistance approach to aging, weathering, and UV effects supports bond-line continuity in outdoor assemblies. As a result, a simpler application flow can be established with a single product in designs where both sealing and bonding are needed. The product is developed in Germany by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG.
