Weicon Easy-Mix S 50 Solvent-Free Yellow Epoxy Adhesive 50 ml is a two-component industrial adhesive system designed for short cycle times in fast repair and maintenance work. Thanks to its epoxy-based, unfilled, and liquid structure, it self-levels in the joint area and forms a uniform bond line. The solvent-free formulation enables more controlled work and process compatibility in serial applications. The product is manufactured by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG (Germany).

Product description and chemical structure of the Easy-Mix S50 Yellow industrial adhesive
This industrial adhesive is an epoxy-based 2K resin system and is described as transparent to light yellow in color. In applications ranging from low-gap joints to small-tolerance assemblies, it focuses on wetting the surface with a “flowable yet viscous” character. Since the mixing ratio is 1:1 by volume, it is suitable for accurate dosing in a cartridge system. The unfilled structure helps increase surface contact in thin bond lines. This approach is a typical solution for processes that aim for a stable film layer when assembling precision parts.

Performance characteristics and durability approach of Easy-Mix S50
The product stands out with a very short working time and fast curing behavior; the pot life for 10 g mixture at 20 °C is given as 4–5 minutes. After curing, it is positioned to form a bond line with impact and shock resistance, and its temperature resistance is stated as -50 °C to +180 °C. Since the mixture viscosity is given as 4,500 mPa·s at 20 °C and the mixture density as 1.2 g/cm³, it offers a predictable profile in terms of flow and application control. On the mechanical side, tensile strength is stated as 50 N/mm²; lap shear strength is given as 22 N/mm² on blasted steel and 26 N/mm² on blasted stainless steel. Because the maximum gap-bridging capacity is 2 mm for this industrial adhesive, surface fit-up and proper clamping/joining practices directly affect performance.

Application method and process timings
The cartridge is designed for direct application together with a static mixer and is intended to be used with an Easy-Mix D 50 type dispenser for 50 ml cartridges. In application, discarding the first approximately 5 cm of adhesive bead is important for ensuring proper mixing. The adhesive is applied to only one surface and the parts are quickly joined and held in position; delays can reduce strength due to the short pot life. At 20 °C, it is described as reaching handling strength in about 13 minutes and functional strength in about 20 minutes. Final strength is expected to develop after 24 hours; the fact that lower temperatures slow down the reaction should be considered in process planning.

Surface preparation and process tips
Clean and dry surfaces are the basic requirement for reliable bonding in epoxy systems; oil and dirt residues must be removed. Since an application temperature range of +15 °C to +40 °C is recommended, curing times may increase in colder environments. It is noted that larger mixed quantities can lead to faster curing; therefore, progressing in small batches in a controlled way supports process safety. For repeatable results with this industrial adhesive, surface preparation, correct dosing, and time management should be handled together.

Sector-based applications and compatible surfaces
The product is positioned as suitable for use on metal, plastic, and fiber composites, creating a broad application area in maintenance/repair and assembly lines. It can be preferred for fast fixing of brackets, housings, fixtures, and small fasteners in machine manufacturing. In automotive and transportation applications, it offers a practical industrial adhesive alternative for parts exposed to vibration where short-cycle bonding is needed. In energy and process plants, it can be evaluated for quick interventions aimed at reducing service downtime. In electrical/electronics applications, the “flowable epoxy” advantage stands out in tasks such as fixing housings and load-bearing parts that require mechanical bonding. The presence of ISSA and IMPA codes is a brief standards note that facilitates traceability of the product in maintenance procurement classification.
