WEICON Cable Stripper No. 4-28 H

WEICON Cable Stripper No. 4-28 H is a professional cable stripping hand tool developed for the safe and controlled removal of the outer sheath of common round cables. The product is designed to provide precise and repeatable performance on cables with an outer diameter range of 4 to 28 mm. The self-rotating internal blade integrated into the body helps enable automatic switching from circular cutting to longitudinal cutting. This allows for a more organized, faster, and safer workflow in electrical installation, field wiring, and maintenance applications.

Weicon No. 4-28 H product description and technical structure
WEICON No. 4-28 H is developed for stripping the outer sheath of fine-stranded and solid PVC-insulated conductors as well as round cables and damp-area cables. The tool body is made of glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide and features a non-slip two-component handle design for controlled grip. Thanks to the adjustment screw located at the rear, the cutting depth can be set continuously, helping reduce the risk of damaging the inner conductor. The internal blade system is adjustable and replaceable, while the hook blade design with a protective cap offers an important advantage in terms of safe handling.

No. 4-28 H performance features and application advantages
One of the main strengths of this model is its ability to provide precise, fast, and safe stripping on common round cables in the 4 to 28 mm diameter range. The self-rotating internal blade mechanism adapts to the cutting direction during use, making the working process easier. Its ergonomic handle shape and non-slip surface support user comfort, especially in repetitive applications. When considered together, the adjustable cutting depth and replaceable blade design make the product a functional solution for both service teams and professionals who regularly perform cable preparation work.

Ergonomics, application method, and operational safety
During application, the appropriate cutting depth is first set, then the cable is placed into the tool and the outer sheath is removed with a controlled motion. Positioning the integrated internal blade system inside the body provides a safer approach compared to open-blade solutions. The hook blade being supplied with a protective cap also helps reduce the risk of injury during transport and use. The manufacturer clearly states that the product must not be used on live cables and conductors; therefore, de-energized working conditions must always be ensured before application.

Application areas, compatible systems, and manufacturer information
WEICON Cable Stripper No. 4-28 H can be used in electrical installation, indoor building wiring, field assembly, control panel preparation, maintenance-repair work, and general industrial cable preparation processes. Its compatibility with round cables, damp-area cables, and PVC-insulated fine-stranded or solid conductors provides flexible use across different application scenarios. The adjustable and replaceable blade system, practical cutting control, and ergonomic handle structure are among the product’s key advantages. The manufacturer is WEICON GmbH & Co. KG; the product is supplied by the Germany-based manufacturer and carries a safety approval tested by TÜV NORD.
