WEICON Flex 310 M Stainless Steel 310 ml is a single-component, MS polymer-based industrial adhesive used on metal surfaces for both bonding and joint sealing. Thanks to its metallic color close to stainless steel, it is preferred in assemblies where the joint line is expected to visually match the surface. Its moisture-curing elastic structure helps reduce the risk of cracking in connections exposed to vibration and expansion. Being paintable and sandable makes surface finishing easier in maintenance/repair and production processes.
Elastic bonding and sealing with Flex 310 M Stainless Steel
This industrial adhesive is designed with a formulation free of silicone, isocyanates, halogens, and solvents, aiming to avoid creating a corrosion risk. Its pasty consistency and low tendency to sag support more controlled application on vertical surfaces and help form a neat joint bead. Because it cures with moisture, it is used as a single-component system, providing ease of use on-site and supporting process standardization. The product is developed by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG (Germany).
Performance features and resistance values
Since the processing temperature is specified as +5 °C to +30 °C, it offers a practical working window for many indoor and field applications. With a curing progress of about 3 mm in the first 24 hours and a skin-over time of about 15 minutes, it is important to join parts before this period elapses. Its elastic film structure targets a flexible yet durable bond line with values such as approximately 3.1 N/mm² tensile strength, about 280% elongation at break, and around 45 Shore A hardness. Temperature resistance is -40 °C to +90 °C, with short-term resistance up to +120 °C, so it can be considered for systems exposed to moderate thermal cycles.
Application method and surface preparation
Keeping surfaces dry, clean, and free of oil is the fundamental step that directly affects industrial adhesive performance. On very smooth stainless steel and aluminum surfaces, light mechanical abrasion such as sanding can significantly improve adhesion. Application should be carried out as a controlled bead using a cartridge gun; for joint sealing, care should be taken to create a continuous line. A gap-bridging capacity of up to 5 mm and a recommended maximum joint width of 25 mm provide flexibility for both bonding and filling scenarios.
Sector-based applications and compatible substrates
This industrial adhesive can be used for sealing seams and joints in stainless steel connections in areas such as metal construction, tank manufacturing, and fixture/apparatus production. It is suitable for installations in ventilation and air-conditioning systems where an elastic sealing line is desired at housing and duct joints. In the food industry as well as kitchen and plumbing applications, it can be considered according to process requirements due to its use approach associated with ISEGA certification. In addition, its classification as building material class B2 according to DIN 4102 supports technical suitability evaluations for certain building-related installation scenarios.
