L&L Bond A-K349 is a two-component, methyl methacrylate-based structural industrial adhesive that cures at room temperature. Thanks to its non-sag formulation, it has been developed especially for controlled application and the creation of permanent structural bonds in assemblies where different materials come together. The L&L Bond A-K series consists of performance products focused on delivering high-strength bonds across a broad range of surfaces. The product is offered by U.S.-based L&L Products through its Romeo, Michigan operations. In Turkey, it is supplied through the company’s official distributor, UTM Teknik.

Technical structure and performance of A-K349
This industrial adhesive is defined in the official selector guide as an MMA-based solution that cures at a fast-to-medium rate, does not sag, and provides strong adhesion to metal, composite, and plastic surfaces. It is applied at a 10:1 mix ratio and offers an open working time of 8–12 minutes with a fixture time of 16–23 minutes; this provides a balanced processing window in serial assembly operations. Its ability to work with gaps up to 15 mm is a significant advantage in joints where tolerances do not fully close. According to official typical values, lap shear strength is 17–21 MPa, tensile strength is 14–17 MPa, modulus is 400–600 MPa, and elongation at break is in the range of 60–80%. This combination gives the product both structural strength and a tougher bond character.

Application method and surface compatibility
A-K349 is applied to the surface within its open time after the two components are mixed at the correct ratio, and the parts are then fixtured and left to cure. Its non-sag structure allows cleaner and more controlled dispensing on vertical or geometrically complex surfaces. According to the official guide, it is compatible with cold-rolled steel, stainless steel, aluminum, E-Coat, PMMA, PVC, GRP, gelcoat, and SMC; depending on the application, surface preparation may be required especially for aluminum and SMC. For this reason, the product is positioned as an industrial adhesive solution not for single-material use, but for multi-material assembly scenarios.

Advantages that support the assembly process
The product’s key advantages include fast-to-medium cure speed, high elongation, good impact resistance, and strong adhesion across different surface groups. In an official L&L application example, this structure is shown to be preferred for bonding composite panels to E-Coat, powder-coated metal, aluminum, and stainless steel substrates. This indicates that the product is supported not only by laboratory data, but also by real assembly scenarios. Its gap-tolerant capability and non-sag structure are also important benefits that support application reliability and process continuity.

Sectoral areas of use for A-K349
The core use areas of this product are the multi-material assembly needs officially targeted by the A-K series in automotive, commercial vehicle, rail systems, and wind energy applications. In the automotive sector, it can be used in structural subassemblies involving metal-composite or metal-plastic joints, especially in systems with E-Coat-coated surfaces. In the commercial vehicle sector, the official use example points to bonding composite panels to stainless steel, aluminum, and coated metal surfaces. In rail systems and wind energy applications, it becomes a meaningful option in joints requiring both strength and a certain degree of flexibility. In this respect, A-K349 is a balanced industrial adhesive for companies seeking strength, application control, and multi-surface compatibility together on the production line.
