Weicon Contact VA 2500 HT Cyanoacrylate Adhesive is a special industrial adhesive developed for fast bonding of rubbers, plastics, and metal/plastic assemblies. Thanks to its high-viscosity formulation, it has a low tendency to run and supports controlled application. As it is designed to remain permanently elastic after curing, it aims for a more stable bond line in environments with variable climate conditions. Its reduced sensitivity to long-term moisture exposure and its high temperature resistance provide a reliable performance profile for maintenance and assembly processes.

Structure and basic character of the VA 2500 HT cyanoacrylate industrial adhesive
This product is a single-component industrial adhesive based on ethyl cyanoacrylate chemistry and is described as opaque beige. The high viscosity enables cleaner dispensing, especially on vertical surfaces or small parts requiring precise application. Since the maximum gap-bridging capacity is specified as 0.2 mm, the best results are generally achieved on well-fitting surfaces and with a thin bond line. Its slow-setting behavior offers a more manageable working window for assemblies where part positioning is required.

Curing behavior and temperature resistance
Because cyanoacrylate systems cure with ambient moisture, initial fixture times vary by substrate, and for VA 2500 HT the specified ranges are 40–80 seconds on aluminum, 25–60 seconds on NBR rubber, and 25–100 seconds on rigid PVC. A typical 24-hour period is used as the basis for full strength development; therefore, loading or testing should be planned accordingly. The product is positioned as a high-temperature-resistant industrial adhesive, with temperature resistance stated up to +140 °C. Maintaining elasticity after curing targets more balanced performance in joints exposed to impact and peel stresses.

Dosing control and a practical approach to reduce application errors
Keeping surfaces clean and dry increases the repeatability of cyanoacrylate bonds, and dirt or oil residues can reduce bond strength. Applying the adhesive as a thin layer to only one surface helps reduce unnecessary consumption and supports a more homogeneous film formation. For larger areas, spot application can contribute to lowering internal stresses and creating a more stable bond line. This approach makes industrial adhesive use more controllable in serial assembly and maintenance processes.

Applications, compatible surfaces, and advantages with VA 2500 HT
VA 2500 HT is an industrial adhesive suitable for a wide range of rubber materials and plastics, as well as for metal/plastic assemblies. Being designed to be less sensitive under variable climate conditions and long-term moisture exposure can provide an advantage for components exposed to outdoor environments. Its high viscosity helps reduce the risk of overflow and spreading on assembly lines, supporting cleaner workmanship. While meeting the need for fast bonding in metal-to-plastic or rubber combinations, its post-cure elasticity offers a more durable bond-line approach at points subject to vibration and impact.

Typical bonding strength approach and standardized test references
In the technical documentation, shear strength values according to DIN EN 1465 are shared as 24 N/mm² on grit-blasted steel and 18 N/mm² on grit-blasted aluminum. These data practically support that industrial adhesive performance increases when proper surface preparation is applied. However, real-life results may vary depending on factors such as surface energy, roughness, gap, humidity, and assembly pressure. For this reason, determining suitable application parameters through small-scale trial bonds within the process is the safest way to achieve the most consistent results.
