WEICON Contact VA 110 Cyanoacrylate Adhesive is a fast-curing, single-component industrial adhesive used for bonding rubber and plastic parts. Its medium-viscosity formulation improves application control, and compared to standard types it offers a slightly longer setting behavior, making positioning during assembly more manageable. Thanks to its NSF registration and compliance associated with NSF/ANSI 61, it is preferred in sensitive production environments. Its colorless and transparent cure suits applications where a cleaner appearance is desired in visible joints.

Contact VA 110 industrial adhesive: structure, characteristics, and core benefit

This industrial adhesive is based on ethyl cyanoacrylate chemistry and forms a clear, colorless bond line in liquid form. Its silicone-free formulation helps reduce the risk of contamination and surface incompatibility in certain processes. Designed for thin bond lines, it supports fast results in assemblies where part tolerances are suitable. It is also a notable industrial adhesive option for applications where there is a potential contact risk with food and drinking-water related processes, where proper product selection and process discipline are required.

Curing behavior, strength, and service conditions

Since VA 110’s gap-bridging capability is specified as a maximum of 0.15 mm, it is best suited to tight-fitting parts rather than large-gap joints. Full strength typically develops within 24 hours, and this time should be considered in quality control planning. Temperature resistance is -50 °C to +80 °C, with short-term resistance up to +100 °C. From a mechanical performance perspective, lap shear strength values of 16–20 MPa on steel are reported depending on surface preparation, making it an industrial adhesive that can be preferred in many non-structural applications where a reliable bond is required.

Application conditions and dispensing control

The processing temperature is specified as +15 °C to +40 °C, and the recommended relative humidity is in the 40%–70% range; these conditions are important for consistent curing. The adhesive should be applied to only one of the surfaces, and the bond line thickness should be kept at approximately 0.05–0.2 mm; thicker layers can make full curing more difficult. For large bonding areas, a spot-application approach is recommended to help reduce internal stresses. These principles support disciplined industrial adhesive use that improves repeatability in serial production.

Surface preparation, difficult plastics, and primer approach

Keeping surfaces clean and dry is critical; dust, dirt, and moisture can significantly reduce bonding. On very smooth surfaces, light mechanical abrasion can help improve results by increasing the contact area. For difficult-to-bond plastics such as PE, PP, POM, and PTFE, and also for TPE and silicone, using a suitable CA primer can strengthen adhesion. This approach offers a practical method for businesses aiming for stable results across a broader range of materials with the same industrial adhesive.

Application areas, compatible substrates, and key advantages

This industrial adhesive is positioned as a general-purpose solution for fast bonding of rubber and plastics and meets usage needs in sensitive production environments. It can be considered—when process requirements are respected—for equipment components related to food and drinking water, auxiliary parts in pharmaceutical and cosmetics production, and toy manufacturing. In jewelry and similar precision assembly work, a cleaner finish can be targeted thanks to transparent curing and controlled application. The 30 g pack size provides convenience for quick interventions in maintenance workshops and production lines.
