Adhetron Steel-Poxy is a two-component, hand-kneadable, stainless steel-filled epoxy repair stick developed for the repair and reshaping of steel and metal-based parts. In addition to being a conventional repair putty, the product can also be regarded as an epoxy-based industrial adhesive solution used for gap filling and localized repair purposes. Its solvent- and VOC-free, non-flammable structure makes it stand out in terms of safe use in maintenance and repair processes. According to official corporate information, Adhetron has an R&D structure based in Connecticut, USA, and the brand is offered under Pulsar Chem. Industry and Trade Co. INC.
Steel-Poxy Technical Structure and Performance
Steel-Poxy is an epoxy-based industrial adhesive and repair compound that cures to a steel-gray color and becomes suitable for mechanical processing. The official technical datasheet states a working time of 3–5 minutes, a functional cure time of 60 minutes, and a full cure time of 24 hours. In its cured state, it provides Shore D 80 hardness, lap shear strength of 6.2 MPa on steel, and compressive strength of 55 MPa, making it functional for maintenance-oriented metal repairs. Its temperature resistance is specified as -40°C to +120°C for continuous use and up to +150°C for short-term peak conditions. In addition, its resistance to water, chemicals, and sudden temperature changes provides an advantage in heavy-duty environments.
Steel-Poxy Application Areas and Surface Compatibility
Among its official application areas are the repair of leaking pipes, air ducts, cracks and gaps on metal surfaces, as well as the rebuilding of stripped threads and small machine parts. For this reason, the product can be used in maintenance and repair, machine refurbishment, facility equipment maintenance, workshop applications, and general industrial service processes. Since it has been developed for steel and metal parts, this industrial adhesive stands out especially in areas requiring metal body repair and localized surface restoration. The official technical document clearly states that it does not bond to PP, PE, and PTFE surfaces, so a compatibility test should definitely be carried out before application on these materials.
Application Method and Curing Process
In application, the required amount is cut off, then kneaded by hand until a uniform color is obtained, and applied to the surface within approximately 2 minutes after mixing. It is recommended to press it firmly into cracks and gaps, scrape away the excess material, and smooth the surface with a tool lightly moistened with clean water. Since secondary operations such as cutting, drilling, carving, sanding, and painting can be performed after approximately 60 minutes, it offers a fast repair advantage in the field. This practical application structure makes the product a field-suitable industrial adhesive and repair solution beyond conventional repair putties.
Industrial Advantages and Technical Notes
Among the product’s key advantages are its stainless steel-filled structure, low shrinkage, machinability, and metal-like final cured appearance. Its stated resistance to hydrocarbons, ketones, alcohols, esters, halocarbons, aqueous salt solutions, and diluted acids and alkalis gives it a wider range of use in terms of maintenance chemicals. Thanks to these properties, it offers a functional solution in industrial facilities, maintenance workshops, piping systems, metal equipment repair, and production support operations. The official technical document does not additionally specify any prominent certification or standard; on the storage side, the product is stated to have a shelf life of 24 months at 24°C.
