L&L Seal A-J235 is a one-component, moisture-curing industrial adhesive based on MS polymer, developed for vehicle assembly and industrial joining processes. Thanks to its elastomeric character, it is positioned as a bonding and sealing solution that offers both flexibility and mechanical strength in semi-structural joints. Official technical documents state that it has a black, solvent-free, and isocyanate-free formulation designed to achieve strong adhesion on surfaces such as metal, thermoplastics, and composites. The manufacturer, L&L Products, is a technology-driven company founded in Michigan in 1958 and now operating through a multinational production network. In Turkey, the product is supplied through the company’s official distributor, UTM Teknik.

Technical properties of A-J235 and MS polymer structure
A-J235 is based on silane-modified polymer chemistry and is defined in the SDS as a moisture-curing adhesive and sealant based on methoxy silane. Published typical mechanical data includes approximately 60 Shore A hardness, 3.8 MPa tensile strength, and at least 350% elongation at break, with reference to DIN 53504 and DIN 53505 standards. In addition, a tack-free time of 15 minutes and a curing speed of 3–4 mm per 24 hours are stated. Its service temperature range is between -40 and +100°C, and it can withstand short-term exposure up to 120°C. It provides good resistance to water, salt water, and mildly acidic or caustic environments, while validation testing before use is recommended for fuels, polar solvents, chlorine, and strong acids and bases.

Application method and curing behavior
Before application, surfaces must be dry, clean, and free from dust, loose oxides, coatings, oil, and grease. The product can be applied by cartridge, sausage pack, or bulk pump systems. The official TDS gives a general application temperature range of 5–40°C, while the ideal bonding zone and part temperature are specified as 15–30°C. Parts should be placed in their final position before the working time ends and held stress-free until sufficient cure is achieved. Since warm and humid environments accelerate curing while cold and dry conditions slow the process, process validation is important in serial production lines.

Areas of use and compatible surfaces
This industrial adhesive stands out especially in commercial vehicle manufacturing, semi-structural joining in vehicle assembly, and back-bedding and sealing applications for bus and rail window systems. Official application documents show that A-J235 is used in mineral glass back-bedding, cassette window bonding, cassette window back-bedding, polycarbonate window bonding, and polycarbonate window back-bedding processes. In addition, it is also used in lighter window bonding applications for caravans, RVs, construction equipment, and agricultural vehicles. Compatible surfaces include most metals, thermoplastics, composites, glass, and polycarbonate-based systems, offering a process approach that reduces the need for pretreatment on many surfaces.

Industrial adhesive advantages and process compatibility
The main advantages of A-J235 include fast curing, high UV resistance, resistance to weathering and salt spray, as well as paintability and sandability. Its ability to reduce the need for primer or pretreatment on many surfaces is also an important benefit that simplifies the assembly process. Its solvent-free nature and the VOC value of 0 stated in the SDS make it especially noteworthy for production and maintenance processes sensitive to volatile compounds. The combination of 3.8 MPa tensile strength and 350% elongation indicates a suitable mechanical profile for joints requiring flexible load transfer; however, application-specific validation testing should still be carried out for paint systems, intensive chemical exposure, and critical serial production conditions.
