WEICON W 44 T®-Fluid NSF H1-approved oil, 400 ml is a multi-purpose technical spray developed for sensitive areas where there is a risk of incidental contact with food. By combining lubrication, water displacement, corrosion protection, cleaning, and surface protection in one product, it provides a practical solution for the daily needs of maintenance teams. With its high penetration capability, it aims to loosen seized fasteners while leaving a durable, thin film that helps reduce noise caused by friction. Its resin- and acid-free structure makes it suitable for cautious use in many industrial environments. It is manufactured by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG (Germany).
W 44 T multi-purpose technical spray and NSF H1 compliance
This technical spray is a maintenance lubricant that can be preferred in food production areas and maintenance points where incidental contact may occur, thanks to its registration under the NSF H1 program. Its multi-functional structure combines maintenance steps such as helping penetrate and loosen rust, freeing stuck parts, lubricating, and protecting surfaces in a single application. It is also intended for use cases that support moisture displacement on electrical contacts and help reduce the risk of leakage currents. It leaves a film that contributes to reducing squeaking and friction noises in moving parts such as hinges, slides, bearing seats, joints, and coupling-type assemblies. This approach both facilitates the operation of mechanical components and speeds up routine maintenance processes aimed at protecting equipment.
Chemical/technical structure and working principle
The product is formulated on an oil base that contains no resin or acid and is described as a silicone-free technical spray. Its aerosol form makes it easier to penetrate narrow gaps, spread evenly across surfaces, and form a controlled film after application. The content approach is generally based on a hydrocarbon-based oil phase and propellants, following a “penetration + protective film” principle. In this way, it helps clean dirty metal surfaces while supporting long-term surface protection with a thin protective layer. The film’s character, intended to reduce smearing and dust attraction, can offer an advantage in applications aiming for a cleaner work area after maintenance.
Technical values, resistance, and compliance notes
In the technical data, the product color is described as beige and the odor as “almost odorless,” with a minimum shelf life of 24 months at room temperature. The kinematic viscosity is stated as 21 mm²/s at 40°C and 4 mm²/s at 100°C, summarizing how the oil’s flow behavior changes with temperature. The temperature resistance range is -20°C to +150°C, which provides a sufficient operating band for many general maintenance scenarios. In terms of compliance, being registered under NSF H1 (FDA 21 CFR) stands out and supports use cases in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics facilities. Since it is a pressurized aerosol, it must be protected from direct sunlight during storage and should not be exposed to temperatures above +50°C.
Application method and sector-based areas of use
In application, it is recommended to spray a sufficient amount onto the part, allow time for it to take effect, and wipe with a clean cloth if necessary; the application can be repeated as needed. For plastic and painted/varnished surfaces, a cautious approach is important due to surface sensitivity, and testing on a small area is a practical method. For maintenance and repair (MRO) teams, key use areas include threaded connections, bolt-nut assemblies, fittings, locks, and valves that are prone to seizure, with a focus on loosening and protection. In production facilities, it can be preferred for reducing friction noise and providing corrosion protection on hinge-guide assemblies, around bearings, and at moving joint points. In sensitive areas such as food and beverage production, packaging lines, pharmaceutical and cosmetics plants, it can be integrated into maintenance procedures where using an NSF H1-compliant technical spray is required. This helps maintain equipment functionality while reducing compliance risks related to product selection during maintenance.
