What is the Weicon Emergency Pipe Repair Kit?
This product works as a two-component system used for emergency repair of pipes and lines with cracks, holes, and leaks. The repair stick included in the kit is an epoxy resin-based, mineral-filled modeling compound, while the repair bandage is a polyurethane-based, resin-impregnated fiberglass-reinforced material. The bandage is activated with water, while the epoxy stick is used for pre-sealing the damaged area and filling gaps. This combination enables fast intervention, especially in facilities where maintenance downtime is costly.

Performance and resistance properties
The product offers a strong technical profile in the emergency repair category. At 20 °C, the repair bandage provides an application time of approximately 3 to 5 minutes, achieves initial mechanical strength within 7 to 10 minutes, and reaches full strength in about 30 minutes. The bandage is specified with a tensile strength of 35 MPa, pressure resistance of 30 bar, and temperature resistance up to 150 °C; the epoxy repair stick is specified with a compressive strength of 55 MPa, adhesive strength of 8 MPa, and temperature resistance from -50 °C to +120 °C continuously, with short-term resistance up to +150 °C. In addition, its NSF/ANSI 61 compliance allows it to be considered for applications related to drinking water.

Application method and surface compatibility
During application, pressure in the line is first released, and then rust, dirt, oil, and loose residues are removed from the surface. For reliable adhesion, the surface should be dry, clean, and preferably roughened. In the next step, the epoxy stick is kneaded and pressed onto the leak point, after which the repair bandage is dipped in clean water and wrapped around the damaged area. The system can be used on stainless steel, aluminum, copper, PVC, many plastics, fiberglass, concrete, ceramic, and rubber, giving it an advantage across different facility infrastructures.
