WEICON Easy-Mix PU-90 Polyurethane Adhesive 50 ml

Weicon Easy-Mix PU-90 Polyurethane Adhesive 50 ml is an industrial adhesive designed for high-strength bonds and very fast curing thanks to its two-component system. With its dual-cartridge design, it is dispensed in a controlled way via a static mixer, helping save time in maintenance/repair and production lines. Its high viscosity helps reduce sagging on vertical surfaces, while the short working time is an advantage for jobs requiring rapid assembly. By allowing many different materials to be bonded, it is positioned as a practical solution for workshop and on-site applications.

PU-90 industrial adhesive: structure and core performance features

This industrial adhesive is a polyurethane-based, two-component system with a 1:1 mix ratio by weight. Since the pot life at 20 °C is about 90 seconds, it is important to plan preparation and positioning steps carefully. After application, it reaches handling strength in about 5 minutes, working strength in about 10 minutes, and typically achieves final strength within 12 hours. Gap-filling capability is limited; it is suitable for joints/gaps up to approximately 0.1 mm. After full cure, tensile strength is around 21 N/mm², providing reliable performance for applications targeting structural bonding.

Resistance values and suitability for operating conditions

This industrial adhesive offers temperature resistance from -55 °C to +125 °C, allowing use in environments with both cold and moderate thermal cycles. Mechanical roughening such as blasting on metal surfaces can help increase bond strength and is especially recommended for structural bonds. After full cure, Shore D hardness is 66, supporting a hard and durable bond line. Depending on surface preparation, shear strength values can reach 19 N/mm² on steel, 17 N/mm² on stainless steel, and 13 N/mm² on aluminum. Its resistance to weathering and chemicals strengthens expectations for long-lasting bonds in industrial maintenance settings.

Application method, mixing, and surface preparation

In the Easy-Mix system, the industrial adhesive is applied directly from the dual cartridge through a static mixer, and it is recommended to discard the first ~5 cm bead of mixed adhesive. The adhesive is applied to one side; after joining the parts, positioning and fixing should be completed within the short working time. The pot life value is given for a mixed batch of about 10 ml at room temperature; larger volumes may accelerate curing. As temperature increases, pot life and curing time shorten; at lower temperatures, the reaction slows noticeably. Keeping surfaces dry, clean, and free of oil is considered critical for this industrial adhesive’s performance.

Compatible substrates, industries, and standards-related use

This industrial adhesive can be considered for a wide range of materials such as fiber composites, many plastics, polyurethanes, epoxy- and polyester-based parts, metals, wood, and ceramics. For some low surface energy plastics (e.g., PTFE and polyolefins), special surface pretreatments may be required; surface activation methods such as flame, corona, or plasma can improve application success. It is preferred for applications requiring fast fixturing and high strength in machinery manufacturing, model/mold work, metal construction, vehicle body and equipment assembly, and composite part production.
