Weicon Aluminium Repair Stick is an epoxy resin-based, aluminium-filled repair putty developed for the rapid repair of cracks, holes, leaks, and surface damage on metal surfaces. Thanks to its putty-like consistency, it can be shaped during application and provides controlled handling, especially for localized repairs on metal parts. Its non-rusting formulation makes it more functional in maintenance and repair scenarios where corrosion sensitivity is a concern. The 115 g packaging variant has been confirmed on official WEICON product pages.
Technical structure and key properties of the Aluminium Repair Stick
This product is a two-component, epoxy-based repair system filled with aluminium. According to the technical data sheet, the mixing ratio is 1:1 by weight, the mixed density is approximately 1.9 g/cm³, and the maximum gap-filling capacity is 15 mm. Its fast-curing and low-shrinkage structure helps maintain the repaired form after application. After curing, it forms a hard, mechanically workable surface, making it a practical option for maintenance workshops and on-site repair applications.
Performance and durability values of Repair Stick Aluminium
According to the technical data, the compressive strength is 55 MPa, Shore D hardness is 80±3, and adhesive strength is 6 MPa. Its temperature resistance ranges from -50 °C to +120 °C and can reach up to +150 °C for short periods. In addition, for 10 g of mixed material at 20 °C, the pot life is approximately 6 minutes, the initial set is about 10 minutes, the working strength is reached in about 60 minutes, and full final strength develops within 24 hours. These values show that the product provides a functional repair solution for metal repairs requiring rapid intervention.
Application method and surface preparation
Before application, the surface must be clean, dry, and free from oil. According to the technical documentation, dust, dirt, oil, rust, moisture, and old residues can negatively affect adhesion, so rough and solid surfaces provide better results. The required amount is cut off and kneaded until a uniform colour is achieved, then applied to the crack or cavity, and excess material is removed before hardening. At room temperature, the repaired area can be mechanically processed after approximately 60 minutes and becomes suitable for drilling, sanding, or thread cutting.
Areas of use, surface compatibility, and key advantages
This aluminium-filled repair stick can be used in machine and plant construction, automotive applications, gear and transmission systems, window profiles, tanks, housings, boats, and model parts. Its development specifically for repairing cracks, holes, and leaks in metal components makes it stand out in sectoral maintenance and repair processes. Its main advantages include a non-rusting structure, fast curing, gap-filling capacity up to 15 mm, and a metal-like repair character. The compatible application base is primarily metal parts, and the product offers a technical solution for the repair and local reconstruction of metal components.
Safety and technical reference information
The product is manufactured by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG, based in Germany. The safety data sheet includes warnings for skin irritation, serious eye irritation, allergic skin reaction, and environmental hazards, so gloves and eye protection should be used during handling. The technical data sheet also includes ISSA Code 75.530.10/11 and IMPA Code 812965/66. Within this framework, the product is evaluated as a fast-curing, non-rusting, and technically defined epoxy repair material for metal repair.
