Weicon WEICONLOCK® AN 306-30 High-Strength Retaining Compound
It is a high-strength industrial adhesive that cures anaerobically for cylindrical fits. In metal-to-metal joints such as bearings, shafts, bushings, and hubs, it fills gaps and helps reduce loosening. Its high viscosity improves application control and provides permanent retention.

Weicon WEICONLOCK® AN 306-30 High-Strength Retaining Compound is an anaerobic industrial adhesive designed to permanently secure parts in cylindrical assemblies. In metal-to-metal fits such as bearings, shafts, bushings, and hubs, it cures where air contact is cut off, fills the gap, and focuses on preventing the joint from loosening. Its high-viscosity structure helps the adhesive stay controlled along the joint line during application. The manufacturer is WEICON GmbH & Co. KG, headquartered in Germany.
Securing cylindrical assemblies with WEICONLOCK 306-30
This product is positioned specifically for reliable retention of cylindrical fits, particularly on passive metals (e.g., stainless steel). In press-fit assemblies or joints with larger surface areas, the recommended approach is to wet both surfaces thinly and evenly. The bond formed after curing stands out with a “difficult to remove” character in applications aiming for maintenance-free fixing. In this sense, it can be considered an industrial adhesive alternative that provides an extra safety layer in addition to mechanical locking.
Anaerobic chemistry and performance framework of 306-30
Its green, fluorescent formulation supports application control, while the high-viscosity range helps limit flow. The product can also be used on threaded connections up to M36 and aims to reduce the risk of seepage/loosening in cylindrical tolerances with a maximum gap-bridging capacity of 0.2 mm. Since the shear strength is specified in the 20–30 N/mm² range, it is positioned to create a strong bond for high-strength fixing tasks. Handling strength at room temperature is given as approximately 2–5 minutes, and the final strength window is defined as about 2–4 hours, which helps plan commissioning after assembly. With a temperature resistance specified from -60 °C to +200 °C, it makes industrial adhesive selection more predictable for equipment exposed to temperature changes.
Surface preparation and application method
Cleaning and degreasing the surfaces before assembly directly affects bond quality in anaerobic systems. The product should be applied evenly with the dosing nozzle, and it is preferable not to let the tip come into direct contact with metal; this approach helps reduce the risk of unwanted reaction inside the packaging. For press-fit and larger parts, wetting both surfaces as a thin film supports more uniform curing. In slip fits, lightly twisting the parts during assembly can help the adhesive spread better and contribute to more stable retention.
Applications, compatible systems, and key advantages
Bearing seats, shafts, bushings, gear hubs, and similar cylindrical fits are among the product’s typical application areas. In machine manufacturing, maintenance/repair, power transmission systems, and process equipment, it offers a permanent fixing approach where vibration and dynamic loads could loosen the joint. High viscosity increases control on the assembly line, while the high-strength nature aims to achieve a joint that behaves like a single piece. In this way, it supports process reliability as an industrial adhesive solution used in addition to mechanical methods such as pinning or set screws. A minimum shelf life of 24 months at room temperature also provides a practical advantage for consumables planning.
