WEICON PTFE Spray non-stick dry lubricant is a technical spray dry lubricant that forms a sliding film without leaving an oily layer on the surface. Thanks to its high PTFE content, it aims to reduce friction while also making it harder for dirt, dust, and water to adhere to the surface. It is a practical solution for establishing a cleaner maintenance standard in processes where the use of oil or grease is not desired. The product is manufactured by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG (Germany).
Dry-film lubrication approach with WEICON PTFE Spray
This technical spray leaves a white PTFE film that adheres to metal, plastic, and wood surfaces and contains no silicone. Its film structure offers an advantage in applications where the dust-attracting tendency of conventional lubricants is a problem. Typical uses include conveyor belts, transport rollers, slides, guides, and moving parts exposed to friction. It is also positioned as an alternative to water-repellent coatings or silicone-based release agents on cutting tools, packaging machines, and certain sealing elements.
PTFE-based structure and performance characteristics
The product is almost odorless, and the coating’s dust-, dirt-, and water-repellent character supports maintenance continuity, especially in mechanisms operating in open conditions. The stated resistance to oils, greases, and many chemicals indicates an aim for a more stable film against different contamination types in production environments. Since temperature resistance is given as -180 °C to +250 °C, it provides flexibility for use in mechanical areas exposed to both low and high temperatures. A minimum shelf life of 24 months at room temperature is stated, supporting predictable stock planning.
Sector-based application areas and key advantages
In food, packaging, and general manufacturing facilities, it can be preferred as a technical spray for guides, slides, conveyors, and transport systems where oily residues are not desired. In maintenance and repair, it can help improve sliding performance on door/window rails, low-friction mechanisms, and moving joints. The ability to use it as a water-repellent film on paper gaskets, cork gaskets, and sealing packings shows that it supports a “surface conditioning” approach beyond lubrication alone. Its silicone-free structure can be advantageous in processes aimed at reducing silicone-related surface issues in subsequent operations.
Application method and points to consider
Cleaning and degreasing the surface before application helps the dry film adhere more evenly. Shake the can and apply a thin layer to a clean, dry surface from about 20 cm; during continuous use, occasional re-shaking is recommended. The coating is stated to dry in about 10 minutes to a dust-free state, which is practical for maintenance work requiring quick turnaround. Because it is a pressurized aerosol, it should be protected from direct sunlight and not exposed to temperatures above +50 °C; during use, ensure ventilation and work away from ignition sources as basic safety measures.
