WEICON Epoxy Casting Resin 90 is a two-component system based on epoxy resin, developed for casting and coating applications, and cures with crystal clarity. This product is an epoxy-based and unfilled casting resin system. According to the technical data sheet, the mixing ratio is 100:42 by weight and 100:50 by volume, the mixed viscosity at +25 °C is approximately 180–230 mPa·s, and the mixed density is approximately 1.1 g/cm³. The maximum single-layer casting thickness is 90 mm; the 90 in the product name is also associated with this high-layer casting capability. Its crystal-clear curing makes the product especially suitable for tables, decorative objects, design pieces, and protective coating applications where appearance is important.

Performance and durability features of Casting Resin Plus 90
According to the post-curing technical data, the tensile strength is 33 MPa, compressive strength is 30 MPa, flexural strength is 21 MPa, and Shore D hardness is 73±3. Its temperature resistance is given as between -35 °C and +120 °C; in addition, high moisture resistance, impact resistance, and good UV resistance are especially emphasized in the official product descriptions. Its lap shear values of 15 MPa on blasted steel, 12 MPa on stainless steel, 10 MPa on blasted aluminium, and 12 MPa on galvanized steel show that the system can be considered not only for casting but also for certain technical coating and bonding scenarios. This structure turns the product into a balanced epoxy resin solution for applications where both aesthetic and mechanical expectations are present.

Application method and process conditions
According to the official technical documentation, the optimum processing temperature is between +20 °C and +25 °C, and the component temperature must be at least 3 °C above the dew point. It is critical that surfaces are dry and free from dust, oil, and dirt; cracks, gaps, and porous surfaces are recommended to be sealed beforehand. The mixture should be prepared homogeneously for at least four minutes while creating as few air bubbles as possible, then transferred to a clean container and allowed to rest for approximately 30 minutes. At 25 °C, for 1 kg of mixture, the pot life is approximately 30–35 hours, the overcoating interval is approximately 2.5 days, the working strength is reached in approximately 4 days, and the full final strength is reached in approximately 14 days.

The product can be used in design objects, furniture applications, exhibition stand production, yacht and boat building, woodworking, arts and crafts, and garden and landscaping applications. Its suitability for coating sensitive surfaces and protecting them against external influences means that its use is not limited only to casting. Low viscosity, layer thickness up to 90 mm, crystal-clear appearance, good moisture resistance, and suitability for sanding, filing, or drilling after curing are among the product’s main advantages.
