WEICON Cable Stripper No. 4 – 16 is a professional cable stripping hand tool developed for the safe and controlled removal of the outer sheath of round cables. The product is designed to deliver precise and repeatable performance on common cable types with diameters ranging from 4 to 16 mm. The rotating internal blade integrated into the body helps enable automatic switching from circular cutting to longitudinal cutting. This design supports a more organized and safer workflow in electrical installation, field wiring, and maintenance applications.

Weicon No. 4 – 16 product description and technical structure
WEICON No. 4 – 16 is developed for stripping common round cables with an outer diameter of 4 to 16 mm. The tool combines a glass-fibre-reinforced plastic body with a non-slip two-component handle structure, offering advantages in both durability and controlled grip. Thanks to the adjustment screw on the rear section, the cutting depth can be set continuously, helping reduce the risk of damaging the inner conductor. The internal blade system is replaceable and allows practical blade changes through a bayonet-type connection.

No. 4 – 16 performance features and application advantages
One of the main strengths of this model is its ability to provide fast and balanced stripping performance on different types of round cables. The self-rotating internal blade mechanism automatically switches between circular and longitudinal cutting during use, making the working process easier. Its large handle diameter and ergonomic form support user comfort, especially in repetitive applications. It offers safe and practical use in electrical and industrial assembly work where precision in cable preparation is required.

Ergonomics, application method, and operational safety
During application, the appropriate cutting depth is adjusted, the cable is positioned in the tool, and the outer sheath is removed with a controlled motion. The positioning of the integrated blade structure inside the body provides a safer usage approach compared to open-blade solutions. The product helps improve operator control in fast field applications and regular maintenance tasks. In addition, the manufacturer clearly states that the tool must not be used on live cables and conductors; therefore, de-energized working conditions must always be ensured before use.

Application areas, compatible systems, and manufacturer information
WEICON Cable Stripper No. 4 – 16 can be used in electrical installations, indoor building wiring, control panel preparation, field assembly, maintenance-repair work, and general industrial cable preparation processes. It is particularly suitable for damp-area cables, NYM cables, and similar common round cable systems. With its safe stripping capability, adjustable cutting depth, and replaceable blade design, the product is a functional solution for service teams, electricians, and assembly personnel. The manufacturer is WEICON GmbH & Co. KG; the product is of German origin and carries the GS safety mark tested by TÜV NORD.
