WEICON AL-MoS² + 400 Lacquer Spray Dry Lubricant, 400 ml
It is an MoS₂-based dry lubricant technical spray. It helps reduce friction and operating noise by forming a clean sliding film on friction surfaces such as slides, guides, gears, and plain bearings. By lowering the tendency to attract dust and dirt, it makes maintenance applications easier.

WEICON AL-MoS² + 400 Lacquer Spray is a technical spray developed for friction pairings operating under high pressure loads and low sliding speeds, featuring a grease-free dry lubricant formulation. Its MoS₂-based film layer helps create clean sliding lubrication on surfaces, assisting in reducing friction and operating noise. The resulting coating supports maintenance intervals thanks to its ability to repel dust, dirt, and water, and it offers an alternative approach for areas where oil or grease is not permitted. The product is manufactured by WEICON GmbH & Co. KG (Germany) and is supplied in a 400 ml aerosol can.
Description and intended use of the AL-MoS² +400 dry lubricant technical spray
This technical spray forms a dry lubricating coating focused on improving “run-in/sliding conditions” in plain bearings, gear assemblies, and various slide pairings. Since the coating is described as resistant to oils, grease, and many chemicals, it supports surface protection in demanding industrial environments. Its ability to adhere to metal, plastic, and wood surfaces makes it easier to maintain different material combinations with a single product. It is also positioned as a solution that can be preferred in processes where silicone-containing release agents are undesirable.
Performance features, resistance, and key advantages
A high MoS₂ content targets a clean sliding behavior that reduces friction, together with emergency running properties. Temperature resistance is stated as -200°C to +450°C, with a short-term tolerance up to +500°C, providing a wider operating window in friction zones where heat load increases. After application, the coating dries to a dust-free state in approximately 2–3 minutes, saving time in serial maintenance operations. Its resistance to X-rays and laser beams is also highlighted as a feature that helps preserve coating performance in certain specialized lines.
Chemical/technical structure and working principle on the surface
The product is described as an MoS₂-based dry lubricant and forms a grease-free film structure. Thanks to its aerosol form, it spreads as a thin layer on the surface and dries to create a “dry sliding” layer that reduces friction. Since this layer tends to repel dust, dirt, and water, it can help reduce performance losses caused by buildup on moving surfaces. It also provides a controlled coating alternative in technical spray form where the use of oil or grease is not desired or is unsuitable due to process requirements.
Application method, suitable surfaces, and practical usage notes
Before application, it is recommended to clean and degrease the surface; this step supports a more uniform adhesion of the dry coating. The can is shaken until the mixing ball can be heard, and it is sprayed onto the cleaned, dry surface from approximately 20 cm. During continuous use, shaking again at certain intervals helps keep the coating thickness more consistent. At room temperature, the coating becomes “dust dry” in about 2–3 minutes; since a final curing time of approximately 0.5 hours is stated, process planning should take this into account before putting the part back into service.
Sector-based applications and system compatibility
Sliding and running rails and guide systems, conveyor belts, transport rollers, and slides are among the typical application areas for this product. Coating uses on loading technology equipment and cutting tools can be advantageous, especially in zones where lubrication is not desired. In gear assemblies and plain bearing applications, it contributes to improving sliding behavior under high pressure load and low sliding speed conditions. Its ability to adhere to different surfaces such as metal, plastic, and wood provides flexibility of use in maintenance, production, and assembly lines where material diversity is high.
