Weicon Aluminium Spray A-100 Brilliant 400 ml is a technical spray product designed to create an aluminium-metallic coating on metal surfaces. With an acrylate resin binder and high-purity aluminium pigments, it aims to form a protective film layer on the surface. It provides fast and easy application for maintenance/repair, assembly, and surface refurbishment work. The manufacturer is WEICON, and the manufacturer’s headquarters are stated to be in Germany.
Coating effect provided by the A-100 aluminium technical spray
This technical spray is positioned to create a protective coating against rust and corrosion on all metal surfaces. The coating color is described as aluminium-metallic (matte), and the metallic appearance becomes more uniform depending on the application technique. Resistance to atmospheric effects and an abrasion-resistant structure help support long-term surface integrity on industrial equipment. The stated resistance to dilute acids and bases provides a practical advantage for surfaces that may be exposed to chemicals in maintenance environments. In this respect, the product is a technical spray solution that targets both a decorative metallic appearance and surface protection.
Chemical structure, application window, and curing behavior
The binder system is stated as acrylate resin and the pigment structure as aluminium pigments; pigment purity is given as approximately 99.5% Al. The application temperature range is given as +5 °C to +35 °C, with an ideal range stated as +18 °C to +35 °C. Dust-dry is achieved in about 10 minutes, and full curing is expected in approximately 4–6 hours. Under suitable conditions, the coating becomes paintable after about 4 hours, which helps simplify process sequencing in maintenance and refurbishment operations. Minimum shelf life is given as 24 months at room temperature, allowing more predictable stock planning.
Application method, surface preparation, and system compatibility
Before application, surfaces are required to be cleaned and degreased; this is considered a critical step for adhesion and the visual integrity of the coating. The can is shaken until the mixing ball can be clearly heard, and the product is applied evenly in cross coats from a distance of about 25 cm. Since consumption for 1.5 cross coats is given as about 2 m² and the film thickness as approximately 25–35 µm, it should be considered that actual consumption may vary depending on part geometry. When increased corrosion protection is desired, a zinc spray primer is recommended; this helps establish a compatible system within a layered surface protection strategy. Due to the pressurized packaging, the product should be protected from direct sunlight and temperatures above +50 °C.
Industry applications and durability-focused advantages
This technical spray can be used for coating and touch-up work on metal equipment such as cooling/ventilation applications, combustion systems, pipelines, and machine housings. There are also usage examples for achieving a metallic surface effect in areas such as fiberglass vehicle body components, model making, crafts, and toy manufacturing. Since temperature resistance is stated as -50 °C to +800 °C, it can be considered when selecting for metal surfaces exposed to heat. Information such as a cross-cut test value in the 0–1 range (DIN 53151/ISO 2409) and the absence of hairline cracking in the mandrel bend test provides a brief performance frame regarding adhesion and flexibility behavior of the coating. The presence of ISSA and IMPA procurement codes can also provide practicality in purchasing and specification matching processes.
